The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed a circulating video showing a person pouring a dark liquid claimed to be Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) allegedly purchased from an NNPC Retail outlet at the Keffi Flyover.
In an official statement, NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye confirmed that the company had conducted spot checks across its outlets, finding the claims in the video to be false. “The product was not, and could not have been, bought from any NNPC Retail outlet, as the company does not dispense petroleum products into bottles or jerrycans as shown in the video,” the statement clarified.
NNPC Retail Ltd emphasized that it upholds stringent quality control and standards, ensuring the distribution of only high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products nationwide.
The company also urged the public to disregard the misleading claims, warning against the influence of unpatriotic individuals spreading unfounded narratives that may harm the nation’s interests.
